When you are billed as a clean guy and all of a sudden it is revealed your green jacket has a stain or two, the public will never let you forget it.
Tiger Woods fell from grace, hard. There is no doubt his actions were deplorable, however, there is a time and place to just let it go. For Tiger woods, that place was months ago.
Today the New York Post plastered Wood’s text messages to porn star Joslyn James all over their front page. These messages were very explicit and hardcore to say the least. My question is: Why publish them? What public need is served by doing this? It has been widely reported that Tiger had an affair with this woman, why are we taking it further?
It has become apparent to me over the last few days that papers like the New York Post and others stopped being about reporting the news and started being about the bottom line a long time ago. Tiger woods has publicly apologized and is in rehab trying to overcome his sexual addiction.
Stories like this and others reaffirm my belief that the line between legit news and celebrity gossip has been blurred beyond recognition. This story has turned into nothing more than a public smear campaign of a man who made a few missteps in his life. It is truly sad that our society has degenerated to the point that we are using our freedom of the press in this manner.
Shame on the Post for not only publishing this story, but for publishing the raunchy photos of his porn star girlfriend for all the world to see. Don’t you have better things to write about? I will no longer give this rag the time of day, I unsubscribed and I encourage you to do the same.
