Greetings from Derek & Jamie Cormier:
We hope this letter finds you well. It is hard to fathom that yet another year, nay, another decade has gone by and twill soon be 2010. My my how time flies when you are having fun. This year brought with it a unique and interesting set of challenges, tests, failures and triumphs. Derek was afforded the opportunity to work with some amazing people as the General Manager of a movie theater here in Lufkin, TX. What an amazing opportunity God provided as he was able to meet many new friends and share his testimony with all of them. Sadly he had to leave the theater industry due to moral conflicts he had with some of the objectionable and questionable content he was required to promote. But we are confident that 2010 will bring him even more great opportunities as we both trust Matthew 6:33 which tells us that if we seek God first he will provide for us.
Jamie has been nothing less than a Proverbs 31 woman. She has also had the opportunity to share her testimony with some of Derek’s former employees and she has had a tremendous impact on both them and Derek as well. She continues to work in the banking industry at a local credit union where she impacts her co-workers as well as the members who walk in the door with her Christ like attitude. She even mended Derek’s favorite pair of jeans so he can wear them again…and there was much rejoicing.
We are praying for where God wants us next and what He would have us do and we humbly and kindly ask you to do the same, for both yourselves and us as well. We wish all of you the very best and pray that you will follow the path that Christ sets out for you, no matter how difficult it may be or how far it pulls you out of your comfort zone. Let 2010 be a year when you can echo the words of Paul in 2 Timothy 4:7
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith.”
