Back to the old School

One of my first audio blogs from back in Nov. 2006.  I used a service called GCast…which allowed you to use a phone and call a number and record your podcast.  This was done I believe in Lynchburg, VA at Liberty University.

It truly baffles me how people can dismiss Jesus Christ as just a "good teacher" or "a good prophet" but not the Son of God.

Blasts from the Past

Here are some blasts from the past:

“Ten Ways to Beak the Stronghold of Pornography” (Oct 2005)

“So Great Salvation” (Unknown Date-Audio Complication of great preachers) (GREAT AUDIO)

Quote from above audio “Many people who wouldn't be boldly evil in their conversation and they wouldn't be boldly evil in their behavior are boldly evil in their mind.  A man who abstains from sexual sin because he's afraid of getting caught can well be indulging in a thousand fantasies.  Because he thinks nobody is going to discover the private sin.  I'll tell you who will discover it, your conscience; and your conscience will produce shame and guilt and fear and doubt and worry and steal your joy.  To indulge in sins of thought is to molest the conscience directly.  And nothing will damage your conscience more than the habit of evil thinking.  Thought sins work directly on the conscience.”

Another great quote:  “How many Christians do you think read the Bible more than they watch their favorite television shows.  How many Christians do you think love the Bible and God’s word more than they love the T.V.”

“A personal account from the heart”  (Unedited, Unscripted, just what was on my heart-Very Rare-Nov 2004)

Blast From The Past

This post is from my Xanga-5 years ago today

This is the day that the Lord has made....time. "It's only just a minute, only sixty seconds are in it. Can't refuse it, didn't choose it, didn't ask for it, but will have to account for it. It's only just a minute, but eternity is in it." My time management is not always where it should be, so I am making a better effort to focus my time on things that matter eternally.

I was 21 years old when I wrote that post and sadly, I still struggle with time management, but I do believe that day by day I am making marked improvements thanks to the help of good books and a good wife.

Thanks for Visiting Derek's Discourse
