Five talents, two talents or one talent, be faithful and fruitful with what you are given.
I recently got word that an old friend of Jamie and ours was diagnosed with cancer; her name is Rachel. Her and her husband Calvin were dear friends of ours when we attended Thomas Terrace Baptist Church in Lynchburg, VA.
There are two things that always come to mind when I think of Rachel and Calvin; One is how Calvin always had a smile on his face and was so welcoming to me every time I walked in the door; the other is how I always got a card every birthday and every anniversary from them.
It made me think, how faithful am I in my ministry? A simple card ministry may not seem like much, but every time I got a card from them it made smile and lifted my spirits. They faithfully went through the church directory and sent a card to everyone on their birthday or anniversary. They were faithful.
I can only hope to half as faithful in what I do in my life. Please pray for Rachel.
